As long as you have lawyers running agencies that only have one focus, and that is interpreting verbiage, watch for this to even get crazier.  It’s not like the good old days where this process was sufficient that worked for many years, technology throws left hook to the verbiage every day and while that process continues, code runs wild in many areas as maybe it’s time for some digital centric laws that spell out some of the technologies used in them.  We all know Congress doesn’t look forward to that as their jobs will get to be a lot more difficult.  I have keep a little campaign here for about the last 2 years to restore the Office of Technology Assessment so they have an agency that can help them, but don’t see much interest there as it’s more fun it appears to grand stand filibusters and turn some of this into dog and pony shows..great for the media for their news content, doesn’t do much for consumers though.  Good old Ted Cruz has been the hands down poster child for this effort.  You can read at the link below what I think would be a good thing as it just boggles my mind as to why so many in DC think they know it all, I certainly don’t and have to read up and learn all the time.

Jon Stewart Discusses “Little Paper Senator Cruz”–Yet More Startling Proof For the Need to Restore the Tool Congress Needs–The Office of Technology Assessment

Watch the video here on the latest and the reporting that is requested in the law, well what happens when the algorithms don’t play well, you can’t generate that report that this new bill wants..duh?  For some reason the word “complexities” seems to escape those on the Hill.

The House wants to know what data is being installed on the Healthcare.Gov website now…but do they even understand what kind of software or hardware it is and what it would do..oh gosh a report of every java script etc, IT folks will love that one.  A weekly report is yet to be in another bill on stats, etc.  Well what happens when the algorithms don’t play well together that week and glitches appear?  It will happen, as it has and will continue.  As I said a while back the entire ACA is all about the continuous rise and fall of the machines, aka the complex IT infrastructures running all of this.  BD

Obamacare: The Continuous Rise and Fall Of The Machines With Complex Insurance Math Models Resulting In Spasmodic, Executing “Killer Algorithms”–And Gov Can’t Model…

So if you haven not figured this out yet the insurance exchanges are one big heaping load of algorithms that need to work and play with each other and software is nothing but a bunch of algorithms working together, Bill Gates said that.

The Obama administration is busy drafting more than 50 additional regulations required by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), a new government report finds.
The Congressional Research Service identified some 43 proposed and final rules related to the landmark healthcare law that are now under construction at various agencies and are on track to be issued within the next 12 months.

An additional 13 long-term rules are making their way through the regulatory pipeline but will not be finalized in 2014, according to the report.
