Single sign on is what every doctor wants who works at a hospital and adds medical chart information without having to go through several sign on procedures, one for PACS, one for records and so on.  A VMware application is now available so those who are already committed and using their technologies have something new to look at.  In addition, under a separate press release the company also announced the OneSign integration availability with Epic Medical records, which is used by several large hospitals across the US.

Press Release:

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today at HIMSS11, Imprivata, the #1 independent single sign-on and access management provider for imagehealthcare and other regulated industries, announced a host of new products and industry partnerships. Designed to accelerate the adoption of electronic medical records (EMR) applications and help healthcare providers achieve Meaningful Use, Imprivata is delivering products and partnerships across three key strategic areas: virtualization, mobility and clinician workflow.

“Over 700 hospitals and 1.2 million clinicians worldwide rely on Imprivata each day for No Click Access to their EMR applications”

“Our customers demand fast and secure access to EMR applications – it’s what drives our commitment to No Click Access and number one KLAS-rated products,” said Omar Hussain, president and CEO, Imprivata. “These new products and partnerships build on our mission to help physicians spend more time with patients and deliver quality care, by reducing the time it takes for them to get the right information at the right time, regardless of location.”

Virtualization Partnerships

Single sign-on and strong authentication on zero clients for VMware ViewTM. An increasing number of healthcare IT organizations are looking to deploy VMware View and zero clients to secure their data and reduce their desktop management headaches. Imprivata and Teradici announced today that they are working together as part of a strategic partnership to provide integration and interoperability of PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) zero client devices with Imprivata OneSign® authentication and single sign-on software. The joint solution will enable healthcare providers to deploy VMware View™ virtual desktops with secure and rich-media hardware zero clients that provide clinicians with one-touch desktop roaming and strong authentication.

Imprivata OneSign Integration with Dell’s Mobile Clinical Computing Platform. Imprivata announced last week that Imprivata OneSign Virtual Desktop Access™ will be integrated with Dell’s Mobile Clinical Computing platform for Dell healthcare customers using VMware View. This furthers Imprivata’s commitment to helping clinicians get fast access to patient data in virtual desktop environments.

Mobility Innovation

As clinicians increasingly demand the use of mobile devices such as iPads and smartphones, secure access for these devices has emerged as a key challenge for healthcare IT executives. In response, Imprivata has introduced OneSign AnywhereTM, designed specifically to enable single sign-on and authentication to EMR and other healthcare applications from any location and any device. Through OneSign Anywhere, Imprivata is providing clinicians anywhere, anytime access to critical patient information, thereby enabling timely patient care decisions.

Clinician Workflow Innovation

Imprivata announced today integration of Imprivata OneSign, the company’s #1 KLAS-rated single sign-on and authentication software, with Epic’s authentication API. This API-level integration with EpicCareTM speeds clinician access, streamlines workflow and simplifies compliance with Meaningful Use requirements for Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE).

“Over 700 hospitals and 1.2 million clinicians worldwide rely on Imprivata each day for No Click Access to their EMR applications,” said Ed Gaudet, Chief Marketing Officer at Imprivata. “As CIOs continue to innovate their hospital’s infrastructure using virtualization and mobility technologies, and drive productivity gains by improving clinician workflows, Imprivata will continue to deliver industry-leading solutions for virtual desktops, mobile devices such as the iPad and EMR applications from companies such as Epic Systems.”

Imprivata will be exhibiting these products at HIMSS11 today through February 24 at booth #3872. The Company will also feature live customer presentations from Catholic Health Partners, Liverpool Women’s and Alder Hey Children’s NHS Trusts and Memorial Healthcare that highlight how Imprivata has helped their organization with EMR adoption and their respective successes using virtualization, mobility and clinician workflow technologies.
